The "Laura Palmer" from port is a really lucky woman. Married to someone she loves, working in her dream career, mother to a child she adores...she's happy, and she has every right to be. I wish her well, and I'm glad I got a taste of what it means to have a good life. I even liked being older...it's something I'd never get a chance to experience otherwise.

I can only hope inhabiting her body didn't hurt her, the way the goddess inhabiting mine hurt me.

In any case, I'm glad I fled the party when Arthas started attacking those strippers. The other Laura won't wake up to find she spent the night in jail, which is good. I tried so hard to maintain her reputation.

[Laura looks at her for a long moment and then just shakes her head.]

You don't know the first thing about me, Parker. Don't tell me what isn't true.

[Laura steps closer to Parker, and then grabs her by the collar. Suddenly, her appearance...changes. Her skin goes dead-white, her teeth turn a sickly yellow and her lips go black. This is something only Paddy has seen, out of everyone on the Barge thus far. She speaks in a rough hiss.]

Get the fuck out!

[When Laura stepped closer to her, Parker thought that she was going to be coming with her to calm down. However, when the collar of her suit was grabbed, Parker quickly wrapped her hand around the blond woman's wrist.

She hadn't expected to see that, not by any stretch of the imagination and for a moment she didn't say anything. Instead, she just jerked the woman towards her.]

Yeah, I don't know what the fuck is going on, but I'm sure the hell not leaving you like this. We're going to the fucking infirmary.

[Parker was scared, and her biggest cover for that was always anger.]

[Suddenly, Laura begins to shudder, and when she looks normal again she tries to draw in on herself, sniffling.]

[Yeah, that made Parker twitch, and when Laura returned to normal, Parker took a deep breath, and then wrapped her arm around the girl's shoulder. Her voice is soft and uncertain.]

Come on, we're getting the fuck out of here.

Alright, we'll go to my room and have a drink, okay? I've got a good bath you can use, okay?

[Parker pulled back only enough to remove her suit jacket and wrap it around Laura.]

[She just nods, mouth quivering. No words.]

[Parker quickly walked them to her room, taking the lift when she would normally take the stairs. She kept a good grip on the younger woman, watching her face intently to see what the fuck had happened and if it would happen again.

Once they were in her room, Parker led the way to bathroom, stopping outside it.]

Do you want a drink or a bath first?

[Thankfully, Parker, it likely won't happen again. It's pretty damn rare.]

[Without saying anything, Parker went into her bathroom and turned the bath on, making the water hot but not hot enough to do any damage to Laura's skin. For a moment, she looked around, at a loss of what to do next. She couldn't imagine what to do now, really. Should she add bath salts, should she call Howie to bless the fucking water? What?

While the bath was filling, Parker set some towels next to it, and then came back into the room.]

[Laura avoids eye contact with Parker, looking around at various random spots on the floor.]

I don't want to talk.

[Laura nods and does so. She's going to sit in the water until prompted to get out.]

[After a while, Parker knocked on the door and then opened it, carrying a bathrobe.]

Come on.

[After a moment and just that small, noncommittal noise, Laura stands; she's been sitting in the water the entire time, and it has cooled down quite a bit. She bends to retrieve a towel, and sort of wraps it around herself half-assedly.]

[Parker watches Laura for a moment, not sure what to do. Then she just wrapped the bathrobe around her friend, and guided her in towards the main part of the bedroom.]

[Parker got up and grabbed Laura a glass of water, and then she pointed to the bed.] Do you wanna lay down? I'll take the couch.

[She was completely at a loss now.]
