Looks like it's one of these days again. Last time I experienced this, I was the one patching in to the network.

[Laura enunciates very clearly now, wanting to make sure that if people who would know her are out there, they don't miss the message.]

I'd like to extend greetings to our visitors. My name is Laura Palmer. If any of you are from Washington state, circa the late 80s, early 90s...get in touch with me. Especially if you're from Twin Peaks or Deer Meadow, 1988 through 1989.

And Paddy, Miss Parker, Neil, Doctor--if you're out there--I think I want to talk to you guys most of all.

[And then her cheery, welcoming side comes back out again, even if she has to force it along with a smile.]

Of course, I'd love to chat with anyone who contacts me! Don't be shy.

Okay, there's a random cute blonde from Washington on my TV. [David talks with his cigarette waggling in his mouth, then pulls it out to blow smoke. He sniffs and lifts his chin curiously.]

So what is this, some kind of alien broadcast or something?

Me? Heh. No. Not an alien. [puff. His eyes twinkle wickedly.] Name's David. California born and bred...

This is pretty trippy. I didn't realize I could talk back for a second. Good thing I'm used to weird.

Staying here long enough, you get fairly used to 'trippy'.

[Of course, her hometown is pretty damn bizarre, too...]

[He sobers a little.] Mixed. But that's always the way, isn't it? I'm free and in one piece, but I lost some family recently. You know how that goes.

But life goes on. [He draws on his smoke again and looks out into the distance.]
